Ghost Photo in the News...

Every now and then, someone takes a photo of a "ghost" and it makes the national news. It happened again last month, and here's the story (and picture!)...

Ghosts of the Crescent...

I found an interesting article on the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas... my wife and I have stayed there in the past and have had some interesting supernatural experiences. Read all about the hotel by clicking this link: http://littlerock.about.com/cs/urbanlegends/a/aacrescent.htm

If you're in the New England area...

...then you may want to drop in on the Providence Ghost Tour. I got a very nice note from someone associated with it, and they have a great website. Well worth checking out, and next time I'm up their way, I'll definitely be buying a couple of tickets!

The White Buffalo

Not specifically on-topic for ghosts, but it is something a little strange (and very interesting). I read a book several years ago called, "Seeing the White Buffalo" by Robert B. Pickering; it talked a lot about the Indian legends surrounding the birth of a white buffalo, and the fact that one was born in Wisconsin. The odds against the birth of white buffalo are tremendous, but the story gets better - after the first one died at the age of 10, another was born on the same ranch. It lived only 3 days. But now a third white buffalo has been born - at the same ranch. To read all about it, go to:

You'll find info on conferences, ghost walks, haunted locations, even ghostly travel guides. All are just a click away:

The Ghost Tree

Okay, so it's not a real ghost tree - that's just what they're calling it. Apparently in a village in Malaysia, a tree has grown a human face. To read all about it, and see a cool photo of it, go to:

What do I post today...

Five years ago our lives changed. We love to wave our flag and talk about the victory over the terrorists, but to be honest, they took away a certain innocence that we all shared. For example, no longer can you board a plane with a bottle of water or baby formula. We have to go down to the Post Office and produce IDs to our best friends that we've known forever before we can get our mail. And God forbid that you happen to bad-mouth the president like the Dixie Chicks did.

Five years ago, our country had more freedom than it does today, and the terrorists took that away. I'm mourning for the loss.

More than anything, though, I'm paying my respects today for the men and women who died on that horrible day five years ago. The brave souls in law enforcement and fire fighting who climbed the steps of the twin towers were much like those men who landed on the Normandy coast - they knew the risk, and were willing to accept it.

People on both the left and right have made careers out of criticizing the other side, and to those folks, I say, "shame on you". The fireman climbing the stairwell of Tower #1 when it collapsed wasn't a Republican or a Democrat; a Christian, Jew or Muslim; white, black, brown or yellow; he wasn't a college grad or a high school dropout. For all purposes, he was just an American doing his job. God forbid that when all is said and done, the rest of us are graded on the same scale as him.

God bless America, 9/11/2006

Excellent Ghost Photos

I've seen a bazillion (is that a real number?) ghost photos over the years. Some I could explain immediately, while others took my breath away.

I found a website that has some very compelling pictures - ghoststudy.com. Just click on the link below, then scroll down and click on "monthly gallery" for some interesting paranormal pictures. Here's the link - enjoy!

Ghosts of Annapolis

Ghosts show up in the strangest places... I was researching something completely unrelated to the paranormal, and my wanderings led me to a site on Annapolis. Suddenly, I discovered that the city has a ghost walk! I haven't been there yet, or taken the ghost walk, but I've definitely added it to my list of things to see:

Poll Results

I left this one up for a while just to allow everyone to vote. I know that it's a sticky subject. Some paranormal investigation groups "cleanse" locations to help the spirits move one, while others deny that this is a possibility. Here's the question that we posed with the last poll:

A spirit can be helped to "cross over" to the other side...

The answers were interesting. Ten percent said "Absolutely - always ". On the other hand, forty-five percent said "Never - it doesn't work like that". Still another 45% said that "It depends on the spirit and its situation". It looks like most everyone (90%) believes that it is at least sometimes possible to move a spirit along on his or her journey.

A Nod to Harry...

Harry Houdini didn't believe in the supernatural, although he deeply wanted to. He desparately wanted to contact his deceased mother, but was never able to do so; in the process he debunked many mentalists. When he died, he gave his wife a code word that he would use if he was able to come back across, which he never did.

Of course, this only means that he couldn't make the journey, not that other spirits were incapable of it. To read all about Harry, though, follow this interesting link:
