A ghostly influence on Lovecraft...

I recently found a ghost story by Sarah Orne Jewett, whose ghosts stories were supressed, but did influence H.P. Lovecraft. I've run across publishers who shy away from ghost stories, but given the fact that a majority of people in America believe in the supernatural, perhaps that's not a wise stand.
